The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is highly regarded for combining academic rigor with flexibility and affordability. Costs
Program costs for classes are competitively priced below the average cost to earn an EMBA degree in the state of Texas (beginning in Fall 2016). Costs include tuition, program fees, study abroad excursion, meals on class days, etc.
International Field Trip
Students participate in an all-expense paid study abroad excursion prior to their final semester in the program.

Kendramia, a dedicated three-time Prairie View A&M University graduate currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Leadership. As a training specialist at the Center for Information Technology Excellence, Kendramia manages a vast portfolio that includes teaching over 60 technology applications, coordinating campus-wide events like Tech Week, and leading critical cybersecurity initiatives. Her extensive journey at Prairie View spans from her undergraduate days in the Summer Bridge Program to impactful professional contributions, such as spearheading a paperless financial aid system and creating campus mural art. Reflecting on her time in the PVAMU MBA program, she highlights how its flexibility opened doors to a transformative EPA internship in Washington, D.C., fueling her professional confidence. Dr. Aneika Simmons
Dean College of Business
Dr. Aneika Simmons
Dr. Simmons graduated with a BBA in management information systems and a minor in finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996, a master’s in speech communication from the University of Houston, and a PhD in management from Texas A&M University. For the last 18 years, Simmons has worked as a professor of management at Sam Houston State University, holding various administrative roles, including interim associate vice provost for faculty success.
Dr. Simmons participated in a U.S. Department of State Fulbright Specialist Program at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. During her scheduled two-week visit, she exchanged ideas with her peers, addressing key topics such as diversity management and tools to build burnout resistance. She also highlighted advocating for women’s equality and advancement.
Director, College of Business
With over 14 years of experience in higher education, I currently serve as the Director of Graduate Programs for the MBA and MSA programs at Prairie View A&M University. In this role, I oversee academic operations, ensuring the strategic management of graduate programs while fostering student success. My fellowship with the Office of the Provost further focuses on academic unit strategy and faculty support services, providing valuable insights into academic administration.

Dr. Erick Kitenge's research spans international economics, banking and mortgage markets, financial access, and applied econometrics, with peer-reviewed publications in high-ranked journals including Review of International Economics, Applied Economics, Economics Letters, and Finance Research Letters.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Executive MBA program is a fast-paced, highly structured program with Saturday hybrid courses. Twelve foundational courses are designed to empower students with professional competencies to be applied immediately in their own business environment.
For students who want more schedule flexibility and a deeper knowledge of specific topics or more time in foundation courses, the College of Business offers a fully online MBA and evening or part-time MBA at the PVAMU Northwest Houston Center. Classes for this MBA program are offered online, in-class and in hybrid format.
Students from all backgrounds are welcome: liberal arts, education, engineering healthcare and so on. While a bachelor’s degree is required for admission, a bachelor’s degree in business is not required.
There is no GMAT or GRE requirement for admission to this program. Some international students may need to take the TOEFL, but there is no GMAT, GRE or thesis required for admission to the MBA or MSA programs.
Classes for all graduate programs are offered in the fall, spring and summer, with breaks between semesters. In the fall and spring semesters, most students take two classes each semester. Students in the MS in Accounting program should expect to take core accounting courses in the summer. Most students can complete the program within two years.
