Genesis Project continues to provide Mental Healthcare Wellness services, Medical Healthcare Wellness services, Laboratory Services, and Community Support Service to families in need.

Executive Director

Dr. Trasha Black, mother of five, is the Owner and Executive Director of Genesis Project 1, Inc., a Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency accredited by the Center on Quality and Leadership serving families and individuals in the greater Charlotte area. She is also the co-founder of Groundwater Solutions, Inc., a collaboration of healthcare providers, faith-based institutions and nonprofits dedicated to addressing the social determinants of health such as housing, nutrition, economic development, safety, and others. Dr. Black was raised in Charlotte and graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in Communications and Sociology. She attained her MA and PhD in Counseling from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Dr. Black is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor & Supervisor.

Our services include counseling individuals and groups who are experiencing anxiety, depression, addictions, stressful life changes, family concerns, grief and loss, and relational conflicts. We also work with individuals who have experienced trauma and struggle with resulting self-image issues and chronic concerns. We work with children utilizing play therapy and traditional talk therapy depending on their cognitive and developmental level. Genesis works primarily from a Person-Centered perspective.
