Money magazine offer great news for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University students and families. The magazine’s “Best Colleges for Your Money 2018” rankings include 21 North Carolina campuses, and of those, North Carolina A&T is the most affordable, with an estimated annual cost to attend for 2018-19 of $18,300.
When the university’s average annual financial aid award is factored in, that price tag drops to $10,300 – again, best among North Carolina schools included in the listing.
The value of the A&T experience shows up strongly in the magazine’s calculation of early career earnings. Three years after graduation, A&T graduates have an average salary, tying them for third in the University of North Carolina System. With six departments and nine programs in seven buildings, the College of Arts, Humanities and Sciences is the largest academic unit at NC A&T State University, and it is at the heart and hub of any well-rounded course of study, irrespective of a student’s major. In our college, you will find the educational building blocks for careers in visual arts and design, music, theater, dance, journalism, public relations, politics, law, history, writing, editing, teaching, and more.

M.A. English and African-American Literature
The Master of Arts programs in English offer students a wide range of skills and knowledge in the areas of African-American Literature, English Education, and Teaching.
The programs prepare students to pursue graduate studies at the doctoral level in English or Education. They also prepare students for teaching at secondary and college levels. Specifically, the degree provides students the opportunity to explore critical theories and hone their critical reading, thinking and writing skills.
JOMC- Journalism Mass Communication
Journalism and Mass Communication (JOMC) degree program delivers the knowledge you’ll need to ethically research, write, and edit information that can be distributed in print, online media, or live broadcast. Journalism courses are taught by expert faculty with real-world experience. They deliver relevant, up-to-date information that wIll enhance each student's career.
The JOMC degree has concentrations in Mass Media Production, Multimedia Journalism, and Public Relations.
M.A.T. English Education
he Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in English Education is designed for college graduates who have earned a bachelor’s degree in English or a related discipline and want to become licensed English Teachers. It is offered both on campus and online .
Students completing this degree are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to teach English education courses in grades 9 to 12. The degree enables candidates to develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to become excellent instructors.
